1. What is my PIN? How do I go about locating my PIN? Your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a unique four-digit code needed to access a number of library services, including your online library account information. The PIN you are originally assigned is the last four digits of your telephone number; however, you can update your PIN at any time through your online account. If you cannot recall your PIN and you have signed up for email alerts, you can use the "Forget Your PIN?" feature to choose a new one. You can also contact your local branch or our Patron Services Department (616.784.2007 or contact@kdl.org) and a staff member can assist you. |

2. How do I get a Kent District Library card? In order to get a Kent District Library card, you must live within the Kent District Library service area. If you are in the KDL service area, bring a valid MI driver's license or ID along with proof of current residence (updated driver's license or recent mailing) to your local KDL branch library. Minors must obtain written consent (co-signer on registration card) by a parent or guardian in order to obtain a library card. After completing a short form, you will be issued a library card. This library card is valid at over 70 libraries in West Michigan as part of the Lakeland Library Cooperative arrangement. You may also register for a KDL card online. Simply fill out the online registration form, identify your local KDL branch location, and your card will be ready and waiting for you to pick up when you present proper identification in person at that location. Please note that City of Grand Rapids residents must go to a Grand Rapids Public Library location to register for a library card. KDL cannot issue library cards to GRPL residents. Likewise, GRPL cannot issue library cards to residents of KDL's service area. |
